Project Zombie XJ: The Daily Driver Edition

Planning on some MT's for trail use? That Jeep is sweet. Should look sweet behind the Dooooooooooley!

What I need at the moment is something streetable as this is my daily driver for the HOTlanta asphalt jungle. I'm sure if I plan on doing any serious off-roading in the future that there'll be a set to switch out. But I expect the white 'eep to be our main off-roading bitch once she's finished. At least for now.

I remember learning to swing tube on that bad boy...... Look forward to wheeling with you guys, the hardcore but avoids body damage group needs expanding

Haha, yeah it was one hell of a learning curve but I've come a LONG way in my tube bending skills since then! It was my first cage but it still came out very sweet.

I must admit... the Jeep looks a lot more at home with the MT's and 15's on it. But yeah I know... it's DDing in Atlanta now. Dawn, you are a badass! I give you mad props for ditching the Challenger in favor of this. But there would have been extra credit for keeping some type of MT tire, lol. I guess you can look at it like this though... you do have the other wheels and if you don't sell them you could easily throw on some aggressive tires like some Swampers, or better yet, some 35" Krawlers and wheel like that. Even in the easy stuff I think you'll be disappointed with those tires on the trails. Just my .02 worth.

ive heard really good things about those tires, i wish i had gone for an AT on Sam's heep. Its a great jeep in the dirt but its primary purpose is in town dd like yours. The falkens that 4wor sent us were nice but the rcv's were a good trade.

i think our next tire for hers will be an at...let us know how the coopers work out, i think i might try and pick up a set of falkens for hers before next summer

I like the tires and they'll get me everywhere I need to go - and most places I want to go (forestry roads - we're more expedition style trips to hardcore rock crawling). I need something that stops on wet pavement - and mud/swamp tires are not the thing for that. These (if MaxCFM's 3500 is any indication) will do just that. The white jeep wouldn't stop if someone sneezed on the pavement - but that may also be a combo of the tires + the drum brakes. Also, the ride is now amazing - which is good as I'll be driving 2 hours/day for the foreseeable future.

If/when I plan on something extreme - I'll plan the shoes accordingly. That's likely to be a year or more out there. Until then, I'll be confident that I can drive on any road I want and the ability to get out of or around just about any obstacle in my way.

I hear that. I'm one of those idiots who wheels his DD and don't want the pain of switching tires so I just went straight to KM2's. Its a sweet rig that I've drooled over seeing pics in the past. I figured the white one was gonna be flogged on a little more! :D what I haver learned DDing a Jeep for the last 5 years, is the more armor the better! You ma'am, are winning!

Drove it into work this morning. As I eased under the height warning bar, the antennae hit it but there was no tell-tale scraping. I still took it very slow and kept an eye on that antenna as I circled my way up to my normal spot. I got a big smile and thumbs up from the owner of the little detail place in the deck. Can't wait to schedule an interior detail!

Truck-Lite LED headlights & new wiring harness from Susquehanna Motosports ordered. Everything should be here by Monday!

Now I need to close the bank for a while - I think there are scorch marks on on the CC but it'll be worth it to feel safe driving in all conditions (unfortunately one of the headlights only works when it wants too).

Just bang on it every now and then...I did that for like 7 months
