Project New Gen Comanche

Dammit...... I knew I shoulda hit CAP that day. :D

SB roll bar huh? OEM one? Did you grab the under bed brackets too? I woulda loved to have found that piece.......

Their still on there, I already had a set on my truck. Red shortbed in 1st aisle, has factory tow hooks as well. It was also a 4cyl, so if anuones looking for 4.10's

Troy did you notice the blue 00XJ that was stripped of its interior parts and engine bay parts?

Had a MJ rear axle bolted in upside down, older style dash tossed into it, looks like someone stripped an 00 to do a 97+ conversion on it.

Ya know I did see that XJ but didn't notice the rear axle...... Someone's got a cool project out there......

Got a few things done recently.

OEM "Comanche" bed liner:

I'm really happy with the way the bedliner covers the dings/dents that were along the top edge of the bed.

And discovered that the bed liner provides NO access to the bed tie down anchors..... Fixed.

The front anchors were gonna be impossible to get to with the tool box mounted, so I attached some chain to removeable links.

The OEM pillar lights were busted and non-repairable, so I found a write up on ComancheClub for these replacements. A whopping $6 fix.

Found an S-10 rear view mirror with map lights that I'd forgotten I had and figured what the heck......

I'm pretty sure you do but to verify do you have the matching tailgate panel there?

For the bed liner? Yep. Even got the original mounting hardware that fastens the liner in without screws.

Figured you would. No kids makes it so easy for you to be a bone yard slut.

If you run across somebody in need I have the tailgate panel.

Ok, making some progress on the pile 'o parts I brought back from Nebraska....

The long bed strapped to the MJ and the frame section wedged under the front of it.........

Has finally been re-united, put the springs and axle under it and rolled it into the garage.....

Cut some excess frame away and prepped it for a trailer conversion.........

Went to Colorado Auto and Parts and cut this from a boat trailer........

Pics tomorrow of the progress.

Got the tongue fitted and mostly welded in here, looking at spare tire placement and working on wiring.

Finished with the welding. Not my best work...... but it should do. I put bolts in as well - just in case.

And here it is, about as done as it's gonna get. I went to buy new shocks for it..... opened the boxes at the store and both had severe paint peel issues. They didn't have any others available...... They gave 'em to me free! Just gotta finish the spare tire mount and it's done.
