Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Why did you bend and fold over the pinch seam like that, why not just get rid of it? It looks like there is no floorboards left, which kind of eliminates the need for that seam.

Well the floors were rotted so im replacing them. I kept the pinch seam in hopes of keeping water/debris out of that pocket behind the rocker.

Ross gets boring parts I get awesome parts.

TwistedStitch Apex suspension seats. C-style headrest with dual harness openings. Basic black tweed/vinyl

Also got a few more supports finished for the passenger side. Should be able to get it welded up by Wednesday night.

My Jeep cost a late night fee...Your Jeep got the HIV.

Good grief Colin .... if I buy you a new camera will you please start uploading pictures with decent quality? My daughter's Dora the Explorer digicam takes better pics.

It seems like you could have just cut that lip on the same plane as the bottom of the rocker replacement, got rid of the floor side of the pinch seam and glue making it just a flap, and then welded it to the corner of the rocker. That way it still would have been water tight.

So true. Colin is getting shown up by Dora the explorer. I'll have to come down sometime and take some picture with my camera.

Yeah I actually thought about just bringing the floor over to the rocker since I have to replace it anyway.

I might still do that and just grind off the pinch seam I welded. Might make it cleaner.

All my pics are with my cell phone lol. The only digital camera I have is worse than these.

Feel free to buy me a new one :D

I just bought a new camera ... but my old one still works fine and takes decent pics. PM me your address and I'll ship you the old one for free. I'm serious.

I don't feel like watching the rest of this thread feeling like I'm under water.

Sure if you want! You sure you don't want to keep the suspense until NACfest?

:D

Some more proof of progress. Welded up half the legs.

Was just spending time thinking about everything I have left to do, and with NACfest less than 3 months away I'm just not sure I'm going to be done in time.

That's not to say I'm giving up, but I just don't think its going to happen. Im going to take a week off from work in May when I hope to be on the final stretch to try and get it all hammered out.

Just keep pushing hard!! If you make it, you'd be the first person ever to start a build after one NACFest and complete it before the next. Spend one extra hour each night working on things .... makes a HUGE difference.

Yeah I've been at it for over 5 days straight I think now? The main problem is that I can't work past 10 p.m. unless I'm not making any noise. I agreed with the neighbors that I wouldn't go past that. I've been outside working until 10 every night, then cleaning up after that.

I'm sure when it comes time for plumbing and running wires I'll be working well past that

Once you get going on wiring, plumbing, assembling the interior i'll be able to help you moar. It'll get done.

 Thanks dude, you've already been a huge help.

I'm not giving up, just being realistic. You'll definitely a get a call when I get to that stuff.

Passenger side rocker welded up except for the pinch seam.

Also stopped by Crown Automotive on my way home and picked up a stock YJ downpipe (all they had in stock) and the YJ fuel pump gasket I need.

Crappy pic but I held up the slave cylinder before this and everything will clear. The front driveshaft clears the throwout fork so I'm not worried about that. This is also loosely bolted up so it should hug the oil pan more and the crossover should be up tighter to the bellhousing.

Did Jeff tell you I used it as a trumpet and yelled typical swear words outta it? Would that even surprise you?
