Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Started on the rockers this weekend. My finger got smashed between the rocker and a jackstand this morning so that put a damper on my productivity for the day.

Got half the supports done on this side but I forgot to take pics. MJs are a little more of a PITA since the frame bends outwards and then back in.

Also, Im going to bend the rear seat mount through the floor to tie into a support since the floor of the MJ tilts upward after the crossmember.

Rocker was tilted down 3 degrees to keep rain from pooling up.

Thanks to Bill (again) for the inspiration on the rockers.

Got my Crow 3" 5pt harnesses in today, as well as the K&N filter I'm going to run and some misc hardware.

Also, my fathers friend was redoing his basement and gave me a benchtop lathe and 4.5" bandsaw for free.

I bet that lathe has a sweet clutch :gee:

Nice score on that and the bandsaw, those are awesome

yours and bills rockers are low clearence and require little work to make/install, mine and Travis's are gonna be way cooler

Drivers side supports all done. Drilled/tapped to 5/16-18 so I can skin them at a later time. Not sure if I'm gonna get to before NACfest or not. Should have the rockers finished tomorrow night.

Wow that's a nice butt

Driver's side done. Welded the pinch seam after the pic was taken. Came out like crap, but IDC. I suck at welding to pinch seams. Must be the glue or something.

Got some of the supports cut out for the passenger side. Hopefully going to finish up the rockers this week and start back on the front suspension this weekend.

Wire wheel on the angle grinder makes fast work of that glue. And, well, most anything else including fingertips...

My bet is that there was rust or paint or something hiding between the layers. Sucks to weld.

Why did you bend and fold over the pinch seam like that, why not just get rid of it? It looks like there is no floorboards left, which kind of eliminates the need for that seam.
