all ready to weld the caliper bracket to the knuckle:

i dont think im going to fully weld it... there are some nooks and cranies that i feel id just be boogering wire into. luckily there are 2 nice spots 180* from each other that lend themselves well to welding.

I think that'd be more than adequate considering you also have bolts that pass through there as well, it should remain fairly rigid...

i talked with dale/dgrigorenko and he did not fully weld his either, when he did the original "dana 34". the idea here is to take some of the braking force off of the 3 hub bolts.


i was pretty confident i was going to use metric hardware on this stuff, same size as the hub bolts. i drilled (well, technically milled, i didnt have a metric bit lying around) my holes to ~.505, which was still smaller than the bore on the holes for the hub bolts in the knuckle. i had pete measure a couple hub bolts, and they were way too small for my liking, they measured out to less than .475. so i said F'that. im using 1/2" hardware. good all standard grade 8s.

installed a new electric fan and CAI today. freed up some room so i could move my washer bottle down when it comes time to install a dodge master cylinder.

jeep just needs a good wash, grease, and fluid check before labor day. only pressing issue is replacing my crossmember and finding a spare tire, which Kman should have covered for me.

also got to install my rear spartan when it arrives.
