Project "Constructive Deconstruction"

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

i dont want to play with you guys anymore!

in all seriousness, not having a job has been killer for my social life, but great for my schooling. in one respect it is stressful having to look for a job, but in the mean time (since i really dont have any money to spare) all of my energy is being poured into my schooling. im shooting for a 3.5 or better this semester which will bring my GPA close if not over a 3.0. and in another respect, its nice not working. to be honest, i did NOT want to go back to the mount pleasant HD. when you have 35-40 college kids in one building... it gets bad.

as for money... if i start donating plasma and saving my bottle returns now, i might make winterfest! lol.

thought this picture was pretty neat:

side note, i need bigger tire. these MTRs look tiny.

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

could be a number of things... superiority maybe, if i had lockers... the kinds that own them though, kooks.

"know your roots." is a tagline that came to mind. the comment i made to a buddy while hanging outside, :$30k cant buy you ground clearance apparently."

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

Paarked by a jk Sahara at gas station to day, I noticed he was drooling a little. I said sell it to ya for 23 k less than what you paid for yours. He just giggled a bit lol

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

not much jeep work going on. talking to a guy about some 35" mickey thompsons, but im not sure if i want run a bias ply tire all winter.

on another note, i keep getting skunked pretty bad. been really pretty lately, them all the leaves seemed to fall over night with the rain we recently had and the strong winds.

i did shoot two squirrels off of my bait pile today. boredom gets the best of me.

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

hey now... im sorry i dont want to waste your tax money and do bad in school. ;)

on a side note, HOLLEY PHUCKING MOTHER OF VARIOUS GODS! i think hes doing it wrong. dont worry, ive never missed a deer. never shot at a deer... but never missed.

the next few mods probably wont come for a while. wont have time for fab work until summer, probably wont work until then either. whats on the list:
- SYE and drive shaft
- D30 aussie, pinion seal, pinion bearing
- control arm drop brackets
- shackle relocation brackets
- coil spacers
- tires and wheel spacers
- rear bumper
- reinforce the rocker rails to the unibody.

thought of a good idea for adding legs to the replacement rockers and still being able to plate the frame later. if i weld the legs to a plate, i can down the road add stiffeners and just cut out where the plate is. then some strap overlapping both should be more than enough. a little ghetto rigged, but i think welding it to the unibody will probably be stronger than bolt on sliders. just a thought.

You know I'm just giving you a hard time.

Didn't you weld these to the pinch seam? Don't bother with the bracing until AFTER you plate the frame. You need the frame plated before you will ever need the bracing for the rockers. Heck, mine still aren't braced. If it's a money issue a lot of people make their own plating rather than buy them. I'm not exactly sure why people do this since you can buy the mids for $105; the fronts I can see making yourself.

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

doesnt your cage tie into it though. im guessing thats got to help a LOT. im confident in my welds, but if i smash up my doors ill be coming for you!

ya, ya, ya... i got to use it first. sorry, ive been to busy giving the lady friend hard time lately. by hard i mean... nevermind, ill let you figure the joke out. if need be, i can draw you a flow chart. i know how you old farts tend to be a little slow in the head. :dunce:

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

as a navy brat, my mother once told me a joke:

"how do you kill a marine?"
.
..
...
..
.
"you glue sand on the wall and tell them to hit the beach."

not pertaining to anyone here obviously... but i consider myself pretty physically able, above the norm. but i tend to be mild mannered and calm around people i dont know very well. ive had a lot of people challenge me at sports.... volleyball, basketball, football... i think its a height thing for me, little man syndrome for them. i tell them, you know what, ill take you up on that. but you also have to step on the ice with me. no one ever steps on the ice with me.

Re: Project "Something Awesome"

I think drinking is the ultimate test of one's athleticism...

Even after enduring the 2-a-days in high school football and wrestling. And I've played a little hockey, it requires a lot of conditioning. Wrestling was an all out brawl for 6 minutes. Football was play for 15 seconds, rest for 20...for 2 hours.

I just know that as an adult, it matters not what I can bench press, but how much booze I can handle.
