1993 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) Country 4x4

Purchased in Boulder, CO July, 6th 2012 with 118,305 miles from original owner with complete service records dating back as far as 1995. I've owned "Todd" for almost 13 years and about 100,000 miles. Like its original owner, I've kept this Cherokee in mostly stock OEM condition and used it as a daily driver.

Factory Features:
  • Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, Tow Package Upgrade
  • Two tone paint (Red x "Champagne Gold")
  • Cloth & Vinyl Upholstery with wood accents
  • Lace Spoke Wheels
  • Upgraded Chrysler 8.25 rear axle
  • Transmission cooler

The service highlights below were all in preparation for a long-form road trip that ultimately didn't include the Jeep. I've kept the jeep garaged since completing all the work, however the house (and it's garage) is listing on the market next week and it no longer makes sense for me to keep it around.

The Good

  • The interior is in pretty good shape and even includes a new headliner, though there are some signs of wear and some faded oil spots in the back cargo area
  • Quite possibly the cleanest engine bay, head, block, and underbelly that exists right now. The engine sounds amazing and shows great health
  • Any trail time was only ever to access backpacking trail heads. The result is a very clean and very well preserved XJ.
  • Absolutely zero death wobble or alignment issues
  • The full service brake job was done in connection with putting on the larger tires
  • Over-powered battery installed to accommodate future custom auxilary components (lights, gauges, etc.)
  • Super classy two tone exterior color
  • No rust, no leaks, control arms and bushings still in great shape

The Not as Good

  • The transmission's fluid pump... It's making a noticeable whine. It happened shortly after the bottom end work completed by High Octane Performance. The second opinions from various trans techs tell me that the input shaft isn't aligned fluidly with the trans fluid pump. So either the transmission is re-mated to the engine correctly and the pump is still operable or it needs to be swapped. Looking through the forums, it also looks like a lot of y'all don't mind the whine and continue to drive without any issues.
  • Cracked windshield
  • Fading clear coat on hood and roof, some paint discoloration on the bow of the roof
  • Center console lid needs to be reattached to hinge plate
