Wow, this is a toughy. Well change out to a carburated motor for sure. The less eletrical the better, pretty much set it up like they did back in the 50's.
I live out west so I can get away from the key cities that will get targeted.
No fear of the crowded highways, cuz I have a 4X4.... Duh:helpme:
It is easy to make some power if you think about it. the mushroom vent on your roof can be modified to make power by attaching an Alternator to it and feeding the charge to a bank of batteries which will have a DC to AC converter. A few of these will do the job nicely.
Cell phones will be working if you know how to switch satellites with your GSM phones. Its pretty hard to nuke the little sputnik up there and the ground control will be up faster than people will think. There is alot of military bandwith that use those systems that is ready for just that event. Stuff was tested during Katrina and it work perfectly, too bad they didnt open access for the people down there (although the rest of the country didnt notice the service interuptions)
I hunt therfore I eat...... nuff said there from us country folk!

I already own an EMP proof laptop, you would be amazed what people sold during Y2K and now the stuff is on ebay for dirt cheap. I bought it for shitz and giggles.

1. Go and see "I am legend"
2. Study the ford that will smith drives

4. Take some of those ideas and apply them to your XJ
5. Then finally sit and wait in your basement with a radio scanner and flashlight and hope for the best.

well maybe i played a little too much

but i'm already building a car for this.

76 camaro. matte black. 2 mock 50 cal's on top armor plating (magnets of course)

and if this all happens i would replace the 50 cal's with 2 7.62 NATO Miniguns and the jeep would be outfitted exactly the same with maybe a mortar out back.

bullet proof glass of course. and my own little hidy hole up in the mountains where i can store my two death machines

My CJ-5 is a '74, points ignition and carbureted. It'd break my heart to leave the XJ behind, but survival trumps desire.

as for supplies, you can get anything you want with a gun and plenty of ammo, so dont worry about stocking up on things like food and gas. just guns and ammo.

Instead of makin the XJ ready for WW3 just get a Deuce and a half, with the multifuel engine so you can run in on any type of fuel. Got plenty of room in the back for supplies and theyre pretty cheap
