Prairie City

Question for all you in the Sacto area. Went on the Prairie City web site and it said that the 4x4 area is closed till mid Oct. Is this a total closure or certain areas at certain times?

talked to one of the rangers last time i was there and its going to be getting shut down for 6mo, but no real set date when. they are going to be moving all the rocks to the back area and bringing more in....

If you check the link below it seems that they are doing quite a bit renovation, and it makes it sound like the area is closed.

I know, it sucks. Getting ready to build up my '99 (I'll post as I build) and was looking forward to hitting Prairie City to test it out. Carneghie is near me but the enviros have throttled it back some, and their 4x4 playground is boring.

LOL, no thanks, i'm good. FYI - Eagle lakes is just up 80 (30 minutes from me anyways) and is good for a day run. Heck i've been known to head up there after work for a few hours now and then.

UPDATE!!

well i just called PC.. talked to the "ranger" he said parts are closed for renovation. I asked him what parts, he said he doesnt know because he hasnt been out there??? its not that big you can basically see the whole damn thing from the staging area, how do you not know?

So i might be going out there to ride my dirtbike this week or weekend. Ill try and see whats up. I just wouldnt want to pay $5 to go out there and have all the fun stuff closed

That happened to me back in March. Prepped the heep, drove out to PC, and found out that only one small area was open to vehicles. Sucked, but it was better than nothing, I guess. I managed to damage my right rear fender area. I need to do some trimming...
