Powertrax No-Slip Locker

A little off topic but I have a 242 and would like to keep the full time working properly. Would a locker such as this change anything or would it still work the same. Im thinking the only way to keep the ft working as if stock would go the selectabe route?

There is no Aussie for the 8.25, but I would say a lock-right (available for the 27 spline 8.25) and an Aussie are very similar, and the no-slip (available for the 29 spline 8.25) adds the synchronizer ring to keep it from clicking like a lock-right.

Other than the synchronizer ring, all 3 are relatively the same thing, but I only have direct experience with the Powertrax No-Slip.

Yea, I emailed aussie, and they said end of may. They've been saying that stuff forever.

I really want a locker out back. I never get stuck due to clearance, or anything else, its always when I pull a rear tire. (When flexing like hell)

Wheres the cheapest?

With a 242 you need to go selectable in order to keep fulltime.

yeah what's been said is true... it's a smooth lock rite. easy to install i have one and have wheeled it and daily drive it. if your rear springs are soft watch out for axle wrap.... but other than that i love it. performance offroad center has it the cheapest, that i found... i got it for 383.xx to my door.
Did they stop selling this? I can't seem to find it on their website...

FYI:

Cry 8.25 29spl. Order placed on 5/22...

5/22/2008 8:22:45 AM Order Status : Pending
5/22/2008 3:24:31 PM Order Status : Paid BO-Till 06/10

Looks like they're running about three weeks behind...

Thay have been back ordered since the middle of April. We ordered one then, and the BO date moved form mid may to end of may to June now... I wouldn't have a whole lot of faith in the BO date since Richmond has moved it back at least 3 times already.

I cancelled my PORC order and ordered from Rusty's. He was the only on with them in actual stock. The price is a littel higher - $420, but if he has one on the shelf, you can actually get it. I called everyone I oculd think of, and he was it.

If you're in no hurry, you could wait for the back orders to come in....

I recieved mine last week :) Put it in Friday and thuroughly beat the Jeep Saturday.

If you have a 242 and an auto locker in the front you cannot use the full time option, if you have a selectable you can. So if you want to keep your full time option then get an ox, ected, or arb locker. If you just want to be able to use your part time 4H and 4L then get a auto locker and dont touch the full time option.

Why can't you use the full time option with an auto locker?

The fulltime option was meant to be run on the street in high traction condtions, the part time in low traction conditions (offroad), I assume you understand the principle of a locker so I will skip that part. But the main thing is that since the wheels can't turn seperately from each other when locked you can't take that on the street. That makes the fulltime option useless.

That much I understand, since full time allows for the torque split to be different. I don't see how running a locker in the rear would affect the full time option....

I don't see a problem with running a auto locker in the rear, sorry if that wasn't clear.

I'm wondering if that's what the person who originally posed the question was talking about running a no-slip in the front or the rear and possibly encountering problems...

I heard you would need selectable in the FRONT diff to keep the Full Time 4x4. Locking diff in the rear wouldn't do anthing but provide more traction in all modes, including 2x4.

No slip in rear and Aussie in front, they are great and no adverse problems in the Snow on the street with the little bit of driving it saw this past winter.

I have an Auto tranny
