Powertrax locker problems!!!

Hello there folks just thought id run my situation by you to get your opinions.
Lastnight I installed a powertrax no slip locker in my 97 XJ 8.25 rear end. THe unit installed easily and I followed all the steps closely. So I filled it up with gear oil and tried it out. Well it made some good clunking noises right away and when I spun the tires it went posi for a second or two... Then it stoped spinning posi it just started spinning the rear driverside tire only. and thats what it continued to do however It would go posi once in and a while just when I was turning the vehicle sharp to the left and punching the throttle. Anyways, I am going to take it apart tonight after work, hopefully I can figure it out then, just wondering if you guys have any ideas, experience with this type of issue.

I would guess you didn't follow the instructions close enough, and you busted one of the paddles.

when I broke the cross pin it did the same as you describe....mine was a dana 30 front axel though

Or you didn't put the thrust washer in maybe?

Did you do the hand spin test as per the directions before you drove it?
