Power Adders: Best Bang for your Buck

If you can do it cheap enough, regear. 4.10's on stock sized tires will make you feel a lot faster. Other than that, never pay full price for any performance part cause the cost/benefit usually isn't there. A lot of people on here are saying stroke it but unless you can find a deal on the engines and know someone at an engine shop, then that can be a very expensive route for gains that aren't extreme.

A good second step for lowlanders would be to run a high altitude CPS or modify their own. This nudges the timing forward a few degrees.

Can you explain how one does this? My Jeep is originally a California Jeep, so I have a feeling it does not have a high altitude CPS. I have never heard of that before though.

Bah. You wouldn't know.

I reccomend getting a couple of the big ones...

Where do you get your supply? 7-11? Safeway?

I was thinking I could just pour it down the throttle body, but then I realized that all that added horsepower might make the Jeep run me over. How do you have yours hooked up?

for the cps, you can notch the mounting holes so the cps is positioned towards, i believe, the passengerside(counterclockwise if standing in front of the engine) or take the cps off the mounting bracket and reattach it towards one side(passengerside). this will advance the timing about 2 degrees.

hope this makes sense.
