Well I installed my new Cibie lamps in my XJ yesterday... I havent gotten around to aiming them... but when I was driving last night with them, they look fine. Infact, the beam pattern is great and I didnt get one Hi-Beam Flash from on-coming traffic... is there possibility that I Don't have to aim my new Cibies? Or is it essential that I do it even though they may seem good already?? Thanks fellas
If you do a straight-over replacement, you should be pretty close. but you will want to check anyhow. When I put in my Hella Vision Plus on the 89, and my Ecodes on the 88, they were close, but a little aiming was in order. Also, you should modify the suggested aim slightly going downward, since the brighter lights are mopre likely to "flare" oncoming traffic.
