Where am I going wrong here? Had a seal replaced along w/ new gears and full rebuild last year. Seal was Ok for a while and then started to leak"about 2 months" after the axle was rebuilt.
Went to replace the seal last weekend.."a year later" .its leaking worse than w/ the 1 year old seal!....also replaced my front d30 seal , same seal same manner and its fine.....
any tips:? its leaking from the seal not the metal to metal edge around the housing.
Im about ready to put a zip tie on the seal to tighten it up...seems to me the seal doesnt make a very tight fit on my yoke.
Its not overfilled....the pinion is tilted up some to keep it inline w/ my CV shaft
It was a Timken seal , so its not a $2 cheapo special
The spring goes on the inside towards the bearing no?
