Parts washer tech

I'm looking at buying a 20 gallon parts washer from Harbor Freight. I would love to get one from Safety-Kleen; but I don't want to spend that much.

Is the HF one acceptable for home use?

What water soluble cleaning solution does anyone recommend and where can I get it? I need a water based cleaner that won't be hard on aluminum. There have been reports of significant hydrogen embrittlement with soaking in high concentrations of Simple Green; so that rules that one out.
