"Parting Party" 98 XJ

Hi Fred..

All registered users have PM privledges if so desired. You probably have the feature disabled, which can be corrected via your user control panel.

How's that Currie 9 working, get it dialed in yet?

Thanks for the info, I recieved an PM from another member later that day, so I don't know what the problem was with the prior attempt.

Interesting you should ask about the Currie 9". In my trip to Mammoth I did Wheeler Ridge and somewhere along with some front articulation I cut the front air line to the ARB, I also noticed that the upward travel seemed very limited with some hard hits especially on the drivers side.

When I came home and removed the driver's side shock it literally fell apart, the shaft separated from the base and all the oil leaked out. I decided to let T&J's performance center have it for a few days so they could do a full articulation test and make some fine tuning. I was pleased that nothing I installed was too far off, there were a few adjustments that they made to better tune it.

We also relocated the lower shock mounts as shown here. I'm waiting for delivery of the new Bilstein shocks 5150's.

When they were done I got back about another 2 1/2" of upward travel.

Were off to the Rubicon Sept. 10 so I'll get a chance to see how the 9" moves and handles the stress.

They also identified where I'm going to need to trim the front bumper so I can articulate at a full turn and not rub.

As for Saturday, I should be here all day, if anyone wants to come by and do some looking. Since my PM seems to be working fine, send me a request and I'll give you my phone number. I would still rcommmend e-mailing or talking to Ryan as I'm not the one to set a price on any item.

Thanks,
Fred

How bad is the roof rack that was on it? In the last picture it didnt look too bad. I might be interested if it wont take much to make it strait again.

1. Sorry, Roof rack is already gone.

2. Center consule appears to be fine, we didn't use it as a jacking point.

3. We are going to sell the trans and T-case.

Thanks,
Fred

Dibs on the center consule it is in good shape (looks like it might have been used for the high-lift jacking point though)

I sent Ryan an E-mail yesterday wanting the console cover.... Haven't heard back from him....

Are you interested in the cover as well or just the housing?

98 and up uses a different transmission that is controlled by the pcm instead of a seperate trans computer, I'm pretty sure you can't put it in a 91. tcase should be fine though i believe all the HOs were 23 spline inputs. I couldn't say for sure though.

Any word on the exhaust? I sent an email but I know you said he was out of town. I can't send you a PM. Thanks.

PM problem fixed.

you can also contact user "cheapcherokee93" for info on parts sales as he is also apart of the group and authorized to price items.

it should also be mentioned that the 231 transfercase does have an SYE installed, which we did not catch before.

grimm - i have an ho in my 91 .. i believe its out of a 96. seeing that that is the dizzy year i had to replace it with last time
