Part Identification

Gents,

Can anyone help me identify this part? Im assuming it is a compressor of some sort as it has an electronic clutch. It has a label on it that indicates an amount of oil, but it doesnt say where to put it or what type of oil. Any help you can offer in identifying what this or on which vehicle would use it, will be greatly appreciated.

looks like an AC compressor for a mid 80's to mid 90's GM product. if you can pull off a part # i can tell you for sure

I did a bunch of searching on this but couldnt find anything really helpful. If you have the skills, you will be my new hero

Man that's a short compressor. I bet if you pull the black hex head bolt off the back and remove that sheetmetal rectangle you'll see the two ports for the refrigerant tubes. It's on there for a reason though, keeps crap/moisture out of the system while it's being shipped.

It's a replacement A/C compressor for a GM vehicle alright.

Any idea what vehicle this might fit? Narrowing to GM is a great step, but model and year would be even better!

Yes any idea on vehicle. Be great for oba. Easier to fit in places.

Looks like a Delphi R4 compressor. If so, then according to this site it was manufactured for GM from 75-95 (another source said 74-95). Not sure which specific vehicles, tho.

About anything...GM likes to use stuff from one vehicle to another so about any 80's to early 90's Chevy with a V8 should fit perfect
