Painting Shackles?

ok, i ordered my TnT boomerage shackles a couple of days ago and now I'm trying to go about paint them (They come bare steel)

so my question is how do i go about painting them?

i also got the zerk fitting, to gease them up. should i remove the fitting or tape over it?

and any kinds of particle paint should i use?

i was just planning taping the bushings and take off the zerk fitting, then painting them with rustoleum paint

any help is great

obviously i would cut out the overhanging extra tape

They look pretty good. I would remove the zerk and paint, or just tape the end of the zerk. Maybe spray a little primer first if you have it. I wouldnt bother with the tape myself, but they are not mine. I did some bare steel for my reinforcing backing for my sliders and primed and rustoleumed. Havnt installed yet, but they look marvelous!

How much do you get? 1" is my guess.

im already taped them up about the cut the extra tape off and tape the zerks then gonna prime then i will post pictures when im done
