Painting '00 Sport Door Trim and Bumper Ends

I use this...

SEM 39143 TRIM BLACK
I get it at NAPA for $10/ 20oz spray can.
I Prep like this: wash parts , lightly scuff with a medium(red) scuff pad, wipe parts with denatured alcohol, let dry, spray 2 to 3 light coats of paint. Looks factory fresh...:rof:

If they're black and faded, you'll have to get the 10 years of grease/oil/dirt/wax off of them. Ideally you would remove them to paint, but when I took mine off I found they were held on using superglue. Took the surrounding paint with it.

Either way, THOROUGHLY clean them. Use a designated wax and grease remover. After they're clean scuff them with some 320 grit sandpaper. Clean again. Spray some bulldog/SEM/whatever flavor adhesion promoter you prefer. Let that tack up per instructions, and shoot your primer. Let it cure. Sand. Shoot your basecoat. Let it flash. Shoot your clear. Let it cure. Sand. Polish and buff. Good as gold.
