Is it possible just to bypass the ASD and hotwire to pin 30. I've noticed. My driver door lock sticks and I cannot unlock by fob. Only lock. Driver door stays stuck.

possible; of course.

recommended? no.

Can't really tell if that was a separate question, or...... but the ASD relay has no connection with the fob or the door locks.

Possible causes for P1388:

WIRING HARNESS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM
FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT CIRCUIT
ASD RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
ASD RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
ASD RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT

What year is this XJ?

There's an ASD fuse in the PDC for the power contacts in the relay and a fuse in the JB for the relay control coil circuit.

If we knew the year XJ, guidance could be given for each of these fuse locatons.

The FSM advises not to jumper the ASD.

Its a 97 country. That's the only code its throwing. I also have no spark and no rpm on the scan tool. I did an ohm check of the crank sensor and it tests good. On the coil driver circuit I have 110k ohms. I measured it by unplugging coil and putting one lead into driver side and one on the battery. I wanna replace the crank sensor but it tests good. I'm worried now that the ignition module of the ecu is shot.

Can anyone verify ohming the pcm bare... with no connectors in c1 or c3.... from pin 7 of c1 to pin 31 and/or 32 of c3 that you get 110k ohms? Thanks

Early '97's would have shown code 42, which is No ASD Rely Output Voltage at PCM - An Open Condition Detected in The ASD Relay Output Circuit.

In this case Fuse 18 (25 Amp) in the PDC and fuse 20 (20 Amp) in the PDC should be examined.

F18 feeds F20 and the Ignition Coil & Injectors. F20 also feeds the PCM.

F18 & F20 are mini fuses.

P0340 is camshaft position sensor malfunction.
It's located under the distributor cap, easy to
replace. That's why it won't start.

Yes. Replaced that as the magnet broke off. Replaced crank as well because I was not showing rpms during cranking. Fired up but died again. Still showing rpms. But it seems like that crank sensor failed right off the bat
