what do you guys think about OX locker? how reliable do you think it is? what kind of installation is it, is there any drilling, or grinding that needs to be done. those of you that are running the ox locker, how easily does it engage and disengage. thanks. i will be putting it in a rear D35 2001 xj. thanks

i have called 4 wheel parts, and they are still selling them, and i also got the number of OX locker and they said that they were still making their products. 4 wheel parts said that they are still running fine, i just wanted to hear from people who has them to see if they are pleased with it.

The company went under for a while but now is back in business I heard. The whole problem is getting them set up correctly. If they are set up poorly then they are are very problematic but when the work correctly I hear they rock. Jason over at Jeepin.com has one in his wife's TJ I think. IIRC he said they love it and never have any problem with it. Hope some of this helps

My buddies got one in a d44. Works fine. About a year old. That said.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A DANA 35.

I'm not even sure if they make one for a 35. But you'll be spending a ton of money on a POS axle.

But, that said, its your money, spend it like you want.

I run an OX in my front D30 and it has been verry reliable. Running the cable and finding a location for the shifter in the XJ takes a little planning but once it's in it's great.

Im running a OX in my Dana 30 and have for about 2 years. Once you get the cable adjusted and, like mentioned, figure out a good way to run the cable, it is a good unit. When I had it installed, it would unlock and caused me some greif. Some adjustments later it works good now. I know Danno had one in his XJ and he loved it. I think though, if I had to do it again, I would go with an ARB. I now have a ARB in the rear but did not at the time I got the OX.

Good know what happened to OX. I asked on this board a couple of weeks ago if they had heard anything as their web site is gone and never got an answer. Thanks for speaking up.

I've been running OX lockers in my D30 and D44 for over two years now. Once set up correctly I've had no issues at all as to engaging and disengageing them.
There is grinding and drilling required for the install. For the D44 there is some material that you have to remove from inside the housing to clear the shifting fork. Also, you'll need to drill a hole or two to route the shifter cables.
Finally, don't waste your money locking(or regearing for that matter) a Dana35. Some might disagree but your far better off just getting a Dana44 to swap in and playing with that.
