IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Runs great, but a BUNCH of white smoke is coming out the exhuast. I haved to burn out all the oil/antifreeze that went into the exhaust from the old motor. The pin holes in the muffler are leaking a brown oozing fluid. LOL Test drive coming up this afternoon. Still have to put a rear driveshaft on and button up the engine compartment. SO GLAD THIS PART IS DONE!!!!!!!!!

I regret it now, but I traded them for the 38/15.5/15 mickey MTZs I have now. I am working out a deal to get them back, hopefully.

Just took it for a 20 mile cruise and it did great!! Oil pressure is at around 55 cruising and 35 at idle. This motor is bringing back memories of the black 96 I took it from. I miss that jeep. I tried killing it almost everytime I took it out and it never let me down, well, the motor didn't.
Did I mention the new jeep sure like to do burnouts. :thumbup: Now to get one on video. Gonna have to wait till I find someone to hold the camera.

I had some fun doing burnouts lastnight trying to get the previous owners rusted on steel rims off, its amazing how much better a strong 4.0 is compared to a 2.5! Don't forget the bleach if your making a video

Awesome! I didn't know if you still had them and wanted to get rid of them. Would love to find some 36-37" iroks.

Pictures will be up soon. There isn't much damage, well, to the jeep anyways. I have not gone into a ditch since I was a teenager. But I will blame it on the fog, ice, and gravel I was battling with. The front left fender flare is only held on by the bottom bolts and the tire has some dirt in the bead. A good start to getting things going for the transformation.

edit: Don't feel bad I hit the ditch last week in my grand cherokee, all it did was push the fender in infront of the door a little.

I didn't get alot of pictures of the install of the rear axle, but here are some teasers. I also installed the shackle relocation brackets, gas tank skid, and bumper. I will try and get some detailed pictures today.

Got a few steps closer yesterday.

I got the front axle all bolted in, shocks installed, and the brakes hooked up. After that I decided to get the front bumer installed so off the old bumper came and I took the header panel off to give me easy access to get the bumper off and the new one on.

In the process of taking out the bolts for the power steering gearbox, all three broke!!

So the rest of my afternoon consisted of taking out the old box and installing another one, which is not finished.

Here is a picture of the shackle relocation brackets installed. Sure do love these. I am thinking of changing the shackle one more back. I know it will give a little more of a harsh ride, but I have more weight to add to the back once all my tools and such are loaded up, that and the weight of Seans old bumper and gas tank skid!!!.

Today I should be finishing up on the gearbox replacement, get the lower control arm mounts cut off the rest of the way to clear the long arms, finish front bumper install and get the winch on, then on to trimming the fenders. I really need to find some shocks for the rear as the stockers are to short. Could go for some 3"-4" lift shocks.

Ivehad much problem getting the broken bolts out of a gearbox, usually they're frozen in the aluminum spacer it self. All three times I did it I took em out with the steering shaft still hooked up. Just broke the spacer away and vice gripped the bolts out.
