opinions on the best dana 30 gears to get...

so on top of the other carnage on my jeep from the con this last sunday(just welded the uca mount and gusseted it up tonight) the front diff has a bunch of metal in it. the gears look good, but the spacer behind the pinion is chewed up a bit. the ring gear bolts where all loose as well so i tightened them up. im going to run it for now and build another HP 30 on the side.
there are some very knowledgable guys here in the sierra chapter and id like some opinions on a good set of gears seeing as i always use the axles i find and never get new gears...

Did you clean out the ring bolt holes with break cleaner and reapply with red lock tight?

If your going to build something on the side why not a 44 now that you have a welder and chop saw? FTR I've seen many of those washer's chewed up on several different axles and they all ran fine, thats most likely where the metal shavings came from.
What gears do you have? did the loose bolts have loctite?

I run yukon (open/spooled) and broke them in on the rubicon (had maybe 20 miles on them before i hit the trail), no issues with them.
My buddy run's Motive in his 8.8lsd and likes them.
That's all i can say from experience.

i got a quote form rawkhaus(a naxja vendor) for gears, master install, and open carrier for 260. i think im gonna go that route.

Ok so the big washer is just an oil slinger. As for gears I have always used seirra gears. From west coast diff in rancho Cordova

I got a set of 4:88's and a minor install kit all new in the box I will let go for $150 if your interested. I could bring them to you.

i am leaning towards one of the vendors now since he can do gears, master install(bearings are what im concerned with) and open carrier.
also, 2 of the gear shops suggested that i bring it since from what i explained the gears and bearings may be usable and might save me money, but they also said if its questionable at all theyll want to repalce the gears and bearings.

im trying to keep this cheap and easy at the same time.
those words dont work well at all when it comes to XJ's.

I have a low pinion TJ front housing with 4.88 gears and a lock right. $300 and it will get you going until you build a 44.

thats a great idea to runt he LP for now. ive read tons of guys running an LP 30 on 345s locked and been fine.
