If you are moving to CA. the CA. law says reg must be done within 60 days.
I don't know if that is still true if you are short term.

sell it and go to rent a wreck. We have them in south fl. its like 30 bucks a day. and if you sell it how much would you want

Well, as close to 1500 as I could get.. I'd probably have to find a local in as much of a hurry to get one as I was.

Honestly, I'm thinking I'm probably just gonna risk it and make the drive...

Good Luck on the drive thing. Drive the deserts at night as suggested. Keep a couple gallons of water with you and you'll be OK. Check the cooling system before you leave & make sure everything is up to par.
