I got chubb when I saw it too!

YUP! That'll do it. Just don't shave that.

Looks good though, needs a few scratches though. :D

It's expensive having a small pekcer, huh?

Ya know, I don't think that axle will fit your "old" Jeep. I think it is specifically for silver, 2000 XJ's. I will bring mine over and we can see if it fits.....

Very nice! I wish I had half the time you have been spending on your Jeep. When is it's debut?

Can't wait to see it.

Ha Ha :laugh3:

The debut depends when the check book stops paying out. I still need to grab the Atlas then get the drive shafts made. I really need to reinforce the unibody before I go ape shit. But it will be running soon and it may show up at a M&G but the wheeling may have to wait until the cage/unibody stiffening is done.

The axle shafts are pretty impressive.

Here is a pic of a 9" 31 spline shaft and the new 35 spline shaft

Still no front axle tonight so maybe tomorrow :rattle:

I've heard a rumor that there is this guy named Murphy and sometimes he shows up unexpectedly...

I'd have no experience in this, whatsoever.

Didn't his relative help install your calipers? :D

I practiced tonight with the damn single/double flare tool. BTW those things suck donkey balls. I was able to do it but still, not even close to purfect.

Ok, I'm not fully familiar with what you are working on because I thought you had an older XJ with an MJ tailgate, but in any case, on my '98, I switched from ABS to non ABS and replumbed the brake lines with stock non ABS lines for a '98 straight from the dealer. Cost was very reasonable and I didn't need to make ONE double flare! :) Also, is that Currie rear D60 a stock Ford HP front housing retubed to be used in the back? Sure looks like it. What do they do for increased pinion oiling? How about the double shave? Do you have better pictures...maybe from the inside? I was contemplating trying a shave on my home built unit. Does yours still use stock gears or are they ground down too? Sure would like to see a pic or two of that shave job showing the inside with the ring gear. Jeff

Got a call from Currie saying my junk is done so I'm going to get up early tomorrow to go and pick it up and if all works well and my gear guy is sober, I may have the front axle tomorrow too. :D

Murphy? Haven't you heard, Murphy's dead. He went straight to Hell and now he's running the place.

The front 44 and rear 60 are Currie high pinion housings. Per Currie, I am to run 3.5 quarts of fluid if I have a 10 degree pinion angle and more the higher the pinion goes.

The 94 XJ prop valve is a little lower than the 97+ XJs so either I make new lines from the master or lengthen the 3 lines coming from the calipers so I chose the two lines from the master.

I have no pics from the inside of the Dana 60 diff for you as Currie did it and sealed it up. If I ever open it I will show the pics.

The second eagle has landed (or I should say flew back home). It will be reinstalled tomorrow.

I also received the booster with the new pedal rod so I put the master cylinder on it and will try to get it in tomorrow night.

I also started the shock mounts for the rear axle. Since it was eleven already I decided not to cut the pad in half until tomorrow.

PSS: Wait, I know, your doing the super secret, hush hush, TQE Racing Barnacle works, dual horizontal, aft mount, Nitrogen/Argon/CO2/ Hexaflouride/Uranium gas, vector conversion mounts. :D

PSSS: Available to the general public in 2007, barring any vendor (Iran...) problems. :D

Back in full swing tonight. As Remi says, I work as if I am possessed.

Started off by finishing my shock mounts for the rear axle.
FileHandler.ashx

Then I started to put the front axle back under the XJ. Here is a pic of my new bumpstops all set up. Still need to test it though and make sure they are correct.
FileHandler.ashx

And here it is pretty much all done in the front end. I still need to add diff fluid and inject the Zirc fittings with some grease but we're damn close. I feel so much better now that it is not sitting on four jack stands.
FileHandler.ashx

I had planned to get the rear axle under the XJ tonight to tack weld the mounts in place but I actually felt compassionate for my neighbors and decided to be quiet after 9:00
So I decided to place the new and improved brake booster in the engine bay. It seemed to fit well. I still need to tighten the two upper nuts but it is in there.
FileHandler.ashx

Tomorrow's goal is start the rear axle and bend/flare the hard lines for the brakes.

Did you upgrade the proportioning valve while at it?
