rpraterxj said:Ya know, I don't think that axle will fit your "old" Jeep. I think it is specifically for silver, 2000 XJ's. I will bring mine over and we can see if it fits.....
Very nice! I wish I had half the time you have been spending on your Jeep. When is it's debut?
Can't wait to see it.

I'd have no experience in this, whatsoever.

Got a call from Currie saying my junk is done so I'm going to get up early tomorrow to go and pick it up and if all works well and my gear guy is sober, I may have the front axle tomorrow too.

Jeff 98XJ WI said:Ok, I'm not fully familiar with what you are working on because I thought you had an older XJ with an MJ tailgate, but in any case, on my '98, I switched from ABS to non ABS and replumbed the brake lines with stock non ABS lines for a '98 straight from the dealer. Cost was very reasonable and I didn't need to make ONE double flare! Also, is that Currie rear D60 a stock Ford HP front housing retubed to be used in the back? Sure looks like it. What do they do for increased pinion oiling? How about the double shave? Do you have better pictures...maybe from the inside? I was contemplating trying a shave on my home built unit. Does yours still use stock gears or are they ground down too? Sure would like to see a pic or two of that shave job showing the inside with the ring gear. Jeff
cracker said:I also started the shock mounts for the rear axle. Since it was eleven already I decided not to cut the pad in half until tomorrow.

Did you upgrade the proportioning valve while at it?cracker said:So I decided to place the new and improved brake booster in the engine bay. It seemed to fit well. I still need to tighten the two upper nuts but it is in there.
