ok so i built my bastard pack and started setting up my 8.8 to get it swapped in when i noticed i got a huge amount of lift so i decided to measure and see where i was.........9" of lift.....ya not what i wanted

everything nice and cut up and painted

first spring assembled and installed

that's alot of lift there buddy


so anyways looks like i'm gonna get rid of these aftermarket hangers that were on the jeep and get a set of stock hangers.

anybody know how long stock hangers are from bolt hole to bolt hole? these aftermarket 1's are 5.5"

well that will get me closer to the 6" max that i wanted. guess i need to remove the overload spring to

What springs did you use? With my Dakota springs and Ranger shackle I ended up with 6".

i used s10 springs

I used S10 springs and got about 4.5 inches lift. If you go from 5.5 inch shackles to 3 inchers, it's only going to lower it about 3/4 inch.

Did you torque everything down while the axle was hanging or was it under a load? It could just be that its bound by the bushings.

hmm ya i think i did have it hanging when i torqued down the hangers...guess i need to loosen them up and get the weight on the axle then tighten everything down....

I would definately try that first. 9 inches of lift seems like a lot to get from a bastard pack.
