One more time, Dutch has an XJ again!!

Waste for anything smaller than 38's

I know, but I already have the D60 and nobody seems to want to buy it. Ballistic also makes a pretty sweet shave kit for it that nets you an extra inch of clearance under the pumpkin. One things for certain, I'd never have to worry about breaking the axle. :D

I'm also contemplating swapping in my D300 as nobody is buying it. I can just continue to sit on the crap or I can use them. I'll probably continue sitting on them for now.

I think its time to remove the rear flares and do a bit of a slice and fold.

Holy hell its hot as balls outside. Sometimes I wonder how the hell I survived Iraq, because this heat is killing me. Oh well, progress made. I removed the rear flares and used a combination of an air hammer and a BFH to fold the rear fenders in w/o needing to slice them up. The new tires fit nicely and the combinaation of the 10" wide rims, 13.5" wide tires, and 1.5" wheel spacers make for a mean stance IMHO. I'll definitely be using the cash I got with the tires to order up some extra bumpstops though, I don't have a lot of room anymore.

lol, have you met dutch? :roflmao:

w/ Krawlers, narrowed D60 fronts and D300's? Sure they can. :D

c'mon man, "deep amethyst" :D

Well the Dana 60 thing was just me pondering what to do with the 1,000lbs of axle taking up space in my garage. I actually just got a call from a guy thats interested in it and has a GM D44 he could throw in that would give me a lot of the parts I need to put my D44 together (once Chad gets it back to me that is). I will admit though that with the Krawlers being on there I'm definitely going back to DDing the Passat. For 1, I don't want to burn these up. Secondly, they are some vibrating and loud ass tires.

I can post up a closer picture, but like most things shaped with a big hammer they look better from far away. :D

I'm not sure how much wider I can go Mike. Its already got 1.5" spacers and 10" wide rims w/ only 3.5" of back spacing. I'm about as wide as it gets until I go to my Waggy width axles. Then I could always keep running spacers with those and net me a bit more width. I'm not sure if I'd want to do that though.

Well I replaced my speedo drive gear with another one I had laying around so my speedo is nicely accurate. However, after taking it to the movies this afternoon I definitely want 4.88's now. I'm also not keen on taking the Krawlers over 70mph because they vibrate pretty badly at those speeds. Its not a wheel balance thing either, its the massive lugs with large voids. They just aren't a highway tire at all, not that I thought they would be. They do ride nicely at 60-65mph though so once I get off the intersate its smooth sailing.

Oh, and FYI... Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was pretty sweet.

I don't know man, its hard to tell in that pic but I'm not sure how much wider he is there. Here is mine at the front.

Here is the close up of my rear fender, I told you it looked better from far away. I need to sand off the chipping paint and then hit it with either some touch-up paint or spray on bedliner.
