Missed that part thats a lot of screwing going on

Rich -- he's saying FoMoCo aftermarket speed parts are pricey! :looney:

:shocked:mike is totally not asking for enough ched for your old cage, Dutch

OH wait, youwere telling me to buy Mustang parts and then try and bitch about the price of these sliders?

You do remember that my fun/fast car is an Audi S4 right? When my little KO3's finally kick the bucket I'm looking at 8,000$ to upgrade to KO4's and 500hp.

Well, that's a pretty cheap $ per HP, isn't it? :D

No, they looked like a bargain after getting used to Mustang prices on stuff. I think somebody else was complaining about their price.. :dunno:

That's a lot of money for just 500hp...

It is a lot of money for just 500hp, granted its 500hp out of a 2.7L V6 utilizing an OEM turbo from the Europe only RS4 and manages to retain very friendly driving characteristics. Its all external components too. The downside is it doesn't include upgraded intercoolers or downpipes. I'd be looking at like 10,000$ + byt the time I got it all. Only 2,000$ more and I can go to Garret turbo's and over 600hp. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, when I finally upgrade the turbo's I will be spending more than I did on the car itself.

Thats relative to the kit and overall setup with the KO4's. The company I would probably be getting my kit from is on the pricier end but I think its one of those things I don't want to skinp on either. AWE Tuning knows their stuff so I'll spend the extra cash with them if I wind up going that route. They advertise 460hp/455tq on pump gas with their standard street/pump gas tune and 525hp/550tq on the race gas tune. You also get software so you can change your tune setting via you laptop and then they include a boost controller option so you can crank the boost up. According to them you can get up to 500hp at the crank on pump gas by turning the boost pressure up to the 22+ psi max setting.

There are also companies doing RS6 turbo kits that are up to 600hp using a factory RS6 turbo and then there are a few option out there for Garret kits now that offer different turbos and fueling options. They are saying w/ stock internals not to go beyond a GT2560R wich is good for up to 600hp (similar to the RS6 turbo but with better spool up). Apparently if I build the bottom end I can get up to 700hp with a GT28RS and upwards of 800hp with a GT2871R setup.

All the Garret and RS6 turbo kits are 25+ psi and also bigger turbos than the KO4 so a lot more volume at the same pressure. I don't know much about turbos but the GT25R is the smallest Garret setup out and is considered the KO4 equivalent/upgrade kit. Similar power (well, a little more), better response, and better reliabilty.

I do miss my 2.2L 5cyl powered S4 though because it was 500hp capable for a lot less money. Of course it was an inline engine running 1 turbo so there is about half the hardware involved. It was also easier to work on, but a heavy pig and very little chassis/suspension stuff out there for it. The B5 S4 is way more suited to high power mods.

Not much of an update but I did tinker a bit this morning.

First I tried swapping it out the power base to my seat. The front riser doesn't function and I was hoping by swapping the motor out I could get it do go down lower. Well after playing around with the donor base and having my seat in the garage upside down I realized that while mine is stuck, its stuck in the lowest position. So now I guess I'm going to find a set of regular sport seats to swap to and see if I like those better. My issue with the Classic seats is that the front edge digs into my leg and gets uncomfortable after awhile. I can remedy this by raising the back up higher, but by the time I get it where its comfy I feel like I'm about to go through the roof. I don't remember having this issue in my 98 or in my other 2000 and both of them had regular sport seats.

I also swapped my speedo drive gear out so now my speedo is mostly correct with the 32's and 4.56's. Now I'm contemplating either working on mounting my RADesigns shifter or installing my Lebaron hood vents. Only issue with both is I want to sandblast the paint off the vents first and I'm still waiting on switched for the shifter so I can't really fully install either. Maybe I'll just go watch Avengers again.

Thanks and yes, from time to time people donate to my Jeep fund in exchange for a front bumper. I'm only doing fronts as my rear bumper efforts have been time consuming and annoying to me. I think mainly because they haven't gone on my own rig.

I'm not sure when they're getting here, I'm going to give JJCR a call tomorrow as they didn't respond to my email I sent out on friday.
