I just bought this extra clean '99 Classic Friday night. It is about as clean as you can get and has a 2" OME lift and shocks and many upgrades. The lift and 30" BFGs will soon come off to allow for my planned 5.5" long arm lift, 33" MTs, and 4.56 gears.

Here's Frog the day I took it home (3/28/09)

In case you're wondering about the name "Red Frog..." We saw this tavern on the way back from buying the new XJ.

Pictures aren't big enough :p

How much did you get it for? I'm looking for an XJ for my sister in-law, and haven't had too much success everything has too high of miles for her (she wants around 100k at most).

I didn't go in. Man, I hope that wasn't a ___ bar....never mind. I'll keep that to myself.

As for larger pics I'll post the usual upgrade pics as they happen. My first mod was a NAXJA sticker.

Boy that looks good. I have been looking around for another XJ to replace my 94. :eeks1:

Do you mind saying how much it cost you and what the miles are on it?

thats clean and a nice platform to start. But we missed you at PC on the 22nd, what happened?

Early on, it sounded like PC was trumped for everyone working on Junk and I figured the trip was canx. I did not go back on the thread and check to see if the event was still on. Crap, I missed out.

I paid $5,000. The previous owner did an amazing job at replacing everything he could before he sold it. All fluids were drained, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, radiator hoses, thermostat, and coolant, new Fram air filter, diffs, tranny, engine, and transfer case fluids changed, plus, he bought front, rear, and cargo liners.

It has a 1.5" Old Man Emu lift, shocks, and steering damper and sits on new 30" BFGs, with a matching spare. He also added a sweet manual switch to force the tranny to first gear when shifted into the bottom 1/2 gear position.

This XJ is equipped with Chrysler 8.25 rear, HP Dana 30 front, NP231 TC, cruise control, driving lights, rear tint, rear wiper and defrost, and a sweet JVC MP3 player with Ipod jack. It has a tow hitch with 4-pin wiring and new tranny cooler. It has all three skids, paint is nearly perfect, interior looks new, and it has very nice front seat covers and after market cross rails. He gave me additional parts that I will need to go through. He kept a log of all maintenance as well.

The only bad part is it has 129,000 miles, but it will not get more than 5k a year for the rest of its life.

I will be selling parts off this as I prep for the long arm lift and 33" MTs. Stay tuned for bargains.

How'd he do the tranny switch?

I couldn't get it to work in my 2001.

Nice find.

I told the guy to post it on NAXJA (he was familiar with the forum) and perhaps sell a few. He wanted nothing to do with it. As time permits, I plan to look into it and will post what I find.

If you are truly interested, PM me and I will try to get him to contact you.

ya know whats funny i spend alot of time in Oregon i see clean xjs up there all the time. They look like they have never even been of road or even outta the garage. Never looked into buy one tough i bought mine down here in Cali the interior is perfect had some door dings and such but i didnt care because i was just gonna hack the hell out of it anyhow. Would have made me sad to cut up a truck that was cherry. Maybe someday i can get a 2nd one as a daily driver. I paid 3500.00 for mine with 113000 miles and it had a pioneer stero with i-pod jack and satellite radio plus 2 twelves with amp. but yours looks like its in great shape :gee:

I may want those leafs if the price is right and they aren't too expensive to ship!

you might not want to go as high as 5.5 if you're only running 33's.
I'm setup with RE 5.5 coils and 35's and it's pretty tall! I need to get it down some.
my buddy had 4.5 with 33's and it was still almost too tall...

I'm running 6.5" lift and 35's. I am 6'3" and still have to do a little hop to get in the rig. Sucks trying to put the kid in the back and will suck even more with a carseat coming soon.

I'm talking more for wheeling....
the lower the COG the better...
