Ok, so I got a Droid........ What apps do you like?

I just got a Aria and here are a few apps i've liked

c:geo- a geocache app

Robodefence- a game that has a free demo but i bought the full version after playing it for a night haha.

A good task killer is needed for battery and food finder is cool for finding restaurant no matter where you are.

I am wondering if all the issues with the Droid are in the new phones? Have had Droid since December and love it. No issues at all. After having a smart phone for a number of years now there is no way I could go back. Coworker has Droid X and is loving it. My big issue that i have seen with Andriod phones so far is no easy way for clean up. Emails that are deleted stay in deleted box and have to select each one individually. My prior windows mobile phone you were able to delete all. However just like a Microsoft product you would have to reboot it every few day. I love my Droid.

Another app in addition to most of those that have been posted that I like on my droid is the shapewriter keyboard, it effectively allows you to trace your finger across the keyboard to type words. takes a little getting used to but it is pretty easy to get the hang of and will mystify your friends.

I also like visual voice mail, the verizon app, makes life a little easier.

Shapewriter as in Swype?

Motorola connected with me and updated mine today. They finished with the "DROID" sound. It took about 2 minutes to complete after "update now" was selected. "DROID"

Thanks Frank, finally figured it out with the link you provided. I still have no excuse for not knowing where the "X" key is lol. In all fairness I sometimes forget the physical key pad is even there.

Got mine on Sunday, My wife got hers yesterday. The over the air updates are to be done by tomorrow (18th) They cut some features for the Moto Droid, like wifi teether and Flash but everything I read says their should be another update soon with the cut updates added. You can manually update to Flash on the Moto Droid.

So far Froyo seems alot faster. Most of the features ie; # of screens, basic layout are pretty close to Helix Launcher, which I have been running since getting the droid, and really liked. I like being able to put some of the apps to the SD card to free up resources, now if all the app developers will allow this. Just talked to my buddy at Verizon and the second update with flash and the other features should roll out in couple weeks for the Moto Droid owners.

Guess I should have been a bit more patient then, lol. Oh well, I have it now. Haven't had much time to mess around with it, but it does seem faster.

HTC Hero and happy!
