Those shackles are gonna fold like paper in no time.

Not necessarily.....................

Led and Joey had them on their old rigs and Stef still has them on her rig -haven't folded yet.If they can hold up to Led's abuse thats got to say something. For the type of wheeling that River does they'll be just fine.

Sweet looking rig!

Nice job.

When's the break-in party?

Dude I just got back home from some forest roads that run next to the S. Platte. I even hit all the washboard sections as I drove from pullout to pullout. It definitely felt strange though. I haven't casted a spinning rod (let alone an ultralight...don't tell Planefixer) in a long time. :laugh3:

Did you fish any in the Platte?

It's good to hear it's driveable. How's it on the road?

Well I wasn't skippin' rocks. :D I've been looking for one section of water on the Platte for a while now. It's the confluence of a creek so I'll know it when I find it. It's marked as Gold Medal but it's in the middle of no where. A few Rangers told me it didn't exist last year but one of them was grinnin' like a opossum eatin' sh!t. I just put in time walking the river looking for it. Hiked about 8 miles today and didn't find it yet. I fished with an ultralight b/c I could move quick and throw it in my pack. Did good.

Jeep handles ok for what I need it for.

I do that when I fish. It scares 'em outta the water.

At least you got out for a bit. It was damn cold this morning. Had to meet some guy who recycles used fat from area restaurants and makes BioDiesel for his monster truck. It was friggin' 20 and snowing. Then I had to go shoot the finish of the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse. Bunch of überathletes that race 40 miles from Crested Butte to Aspen along the ridglines. They start at Midnight in CB and race (on cross country skis) across the mountains. Some said they couldn't see 5 feet cause the wind was blowing so hard and the snow was blinding. Nuts if you ask me. Isn't that what snowmobiles are for?

Good. Jeeps aren't Caddies and I'm glad they aren't.
