Oil sending unit replacement with aftermarket

91 getting a complete rework I have built custom dash with auto meter gauges. as someone new to the jeep world does the oil sending unit send any signal to the computer? Or can I just replace stock sending unit with the auto meter unit wired directly to gauge not using stock wiring?

You should be fine to use only the autometer stuff for that.
