OHV Sticker Program

Here in Wisconsin, a bill is being drafted to create a "Sticker" program for OHV's and OHM's modeled on the State's ATV Snowmobile program. The idea would be to raise funds for an Off-Road Park.

My question is: In states with some flavor of "Sticker Program" and a "State Riding Area", how has your enjoyment of Forest Roads and National Forest Roads been affected?

Here in CA there are some areas that require you to purchase a day or weekend pass for taking your street driven vehicles into the designated OHV area, most of the forestry service owned areas are this way. The only limitations imposed on a OHV registered vehicle like a dirtbike, quad, or buggy, are that it cannot be operated on any public road, it becomes designated for off road use only.

Michigan has a OHV sticker program. works pretty well as i remember. i haven't been up there for a few years but i know all motor vehicles (ATV's, Highway vehicles, snowmobiles, etc...) not sure where the money went after it left my pocket but the state owned trails were always taken care of. though many trails around my old stomping grounds are closed down now due to foresting. it has its ups and downs, but keep an eye on those trails.

They have the stickers here. The money never actually makes it back into the offroad community.

Texas has one too, the stickers fund the land program, and it's a good way to get the money, just so long as the state doesn't start siphoning off the money else where.

They have stickers here in CA. They make their way back into the OHV parks by maintaining bathrooms and such. Its usually for the free riding spots.

In Oregon, they have signs all over the place saying "Your OHV funds at work"

Seems like a good deal.
