Cliff Notes:

Guy (by the name of Andy) owns 80 acres of land and is opening it up to the locals for wheelin. This past Saturday I, along with several other's from NC4x4 met up on his land to meet him and discuss what his plans are, what he expects, and scope out the land. We spend the better part of Saturday clearing brush and establishing the grounds for some basic trails, and there's still a lot more to go. I wasn't able to go back out Sunday, but it's my understanding that a few more went back and scouted out some more trails.

Guys, Andy's land has something for everybody....very easy riding trails for those who just want to go get their feet a little muddy, to what turned out to be quite a challenging rock climb (much to our surprise after making it). What we did this weekend is only the very beginning...there is TONS of potential for this land.

The plan for right now is to have a race on one Saturday each month. During this Saturday all trails will be closed to all except those competing. The times and costs are in the linked thread. The rest of the weekends would be opened up to everyone else to wheel, including the Sunday right after race day.

This is a huge opportunity for those of us in this general area of the state (both NC and SC), as all we've really got with in a reasonable drive (1-2ish hours) are Uwharrie and Gulches. This could be something extremely local and quite cheap.

If anybody has any questions about it after reading through the thread linked above let me know and i'll try to answer them as best as I can. If anybody is interested in coming out to help on a Saturday or Sunday, keep an eye on that thread for updates. It's pretty much a come out and bring whatever tools you have deal. This weekend we had two guys with Chainsaws and one with a Bobcat with a Bushhog attached to it, and we made pretty good progress.
