official KOH vids are already showing up on youtube

it's coming though good here Rick. we're just discussing how every rig with those fancy falken tires on it is having trouble climbing the bottom of chocolate thunder but anyone running a tire with some chunky tread to it is walking up like nothing :eyes:
 
I just got back from my first time at KOH. Ive never been to Johnson valley. But all I can say is it was the shit. Definitely a must every year from now on.

Couldnt get buddies to go so i went myself. Worth the trip. It wll be on the calendar for next year. For those skeptics, the area is huge. Plenty of room to camp. The obstacles are accessable by most vehicles, maybe you have to walk up the hill but you should be able to get to the base at least. I took my 90 xj from central cal with my fingers crossed that i would make it. I couldnt do much wheeling because i was worried about running out of fuel as the nearest gas station is 45 min away. Took a 5 gal jerry can for backup. Next year, im bringing the camper, staying more days ( only got in one night and race day this year) lots of gas and water.

When you pull out onto the pavement, turn left instead of right. There's two gas stations and a pizza parlor 10-12 minutes down the road.
 
Me and 3 buddies went in my friends 91 xj. 2 broken stock motor mounts, bad trans mount. We snapped a u joint by back door. Even with taking a beat rig we made it everywhere. It was awesome and well worth the risk.

Wouldve been awesome to know that the other day. Now i know for next year. I searched all over for info but didnt come up with much that was helpful.

Just watching Sportscenter, the KOH event made the SC top 10 at number ten. Pretty funny see rock crawling mixed in with Blake Griffin dunk highlights.
 
I like the MasterPull Cherokee standing guard on Back Door... And it's definitely different watching them go DOWN Back Door this year.

Going UP last year, when I got to be a spectator, was very cool & very brutal. I like that you get to hear them hammer down after coming off Back Door though. I love me some happy motor sounds! :loveu:
 
One more at Back Door. Don't know how long before YouTube yanks it due to the music.... Several shorts edited together to preserve time. Deleted the small originals after finishing the final in iMovie, turns out it didn't exactly save a copy I can store in my phone so what's on YouTube is all ive got of this now :D
