OFFICIAL BS THREAD(all others will be deleted)

The only campsites down that way don't have vacancies that I can find. Don't really want to stay at workers rv park :(

What day are you thinking of coming?

I'm going to come down Monday, Tues or Wed. Looks like I'll just come down and back. Maybe I'll stay somewhere else on the drive back... depends on what I drive I guess. Thought a get together would be fun... looks like ROM may not happen?

If you are by yourself, with just a truck, no camper (parking issues), I have a couch in my shop you could crash on, but no real heat except a small electric space heater. Good place for us all to meet at my shop and hang out and then go eat later....Sleep over there might depend on the weather as to usability? Also if you are by yourself I might be able to clear off the stuff on the top of my daughters bed (she lives in Detroit right now), I live by myself right now, and you could crash at my place over night. It is a very small house, cramped, but could work.

My shop (2400 sq ft) would be a better place and / or nearby eatery, for a meet and greet with fellow jeep folks. None of you have seen my chemical engineering R&D lab, mechanical shop (where I use to repair and custom fabricate anything and everything under the sun), etc. It is split up into 3 parts, one part was my daughters photo studio and is now storage. One is library and environmental lab, the rest is now shop and repair space.... Been there for 25 years now.

I would really like to see you all and meet you all for the first time. Shame so many of us live in Houston greater area and never meet up.

ROM????

Oh, and some of us could meet at my shop/home and later drive north to downtown for a more central place to meet others for dinner or earlier for lunch???

xjintx, would you arrive in Houston early enough for lunch if anyone wanted to do lunch near downtown or the Galleria area?

Monday starts in 5 hours. Might want to check the weather forecast.

Rain predicted here on Monday, 70%. Tuesday and Wed look clear, 20% chance of rain. Overnight lows in the mid 50s, so not so bad.

So for those who want to meet up in Houston the next 2.5 days.... who wants to come, and when and where is best for you?

Any body interested in a jeep parts swap meet at my shop?

Free beer? :roflmao:

Just returned from Sears for an alignment and tire rotation. I've been having problem with tires walking on road while driving. They would not do alignment they said my lower control arm bushings (the steel ones) are shot. I just replaced in Jan I think :(. So I'm ordering whole new control arms and will install. That means probably not coming down this week. POSSIBLY this weekend but doubtful.

Speaking of tires walking on the road, and my recent death wobble, I just experienced extreme tire walking at 10 mph or less. Shocking (Shocks were not involved LMAO) how much a 6" tow in can affect steering :scared:

I miss read my notes from the front tire measurement I made before replacing the tie rods. But I now suspect the tow in was way off before I added to the error. No way to know for sure. But I used the front and rear tire measurement with a tape measure to set it at 1/8" of toe in and at 0-30 mph now it is a huge improvement.

One I never realized how easy it was to get toe-in is so far off with it looking obvious.

Still need to replace lower driver's side control arm (1 bad bushing starting to disintegrate) and need to replace the steering dampener shock.

Then in about a week, the new front shocks should arrive.

Got the new tire from the rolled-totaled jeep onto a good, not bent rim today and got it on the jeep working now. Will not test drive over the 35 mph range till the steering dampener and control arm arrive and have been installed.

Greased the new tie rod ends before testing driving it today.

I may have a strong health jeep on my hands again shortly.

Like I told John, if he doesn't pay me, then he will be shamed. Shamed!!

Also Dillon I need your address. I don't know if my text didn't send again.

Dillon, you buying something from Brady? maybe you'd want to drive there with me? If not maybe I can bring back?

My next planed event is gall bladder surgery to have it removed Friday. They got the GB stone out of my bile duct Monday (ERCP surgery procedure), doing a lot better already. :sunshine:
