Anybody know what I should do with this poor little guy? We know mom is gone, neighborhood K9 got her last week. So chances are there will be more like this one. Contacted O.C. zoo but they already have 3 and want no more.

Put it in a cage and toss it in the pool.

Technically it's not a rodent, it's the only marsupial native to North America... But, nah...

Or call animal control.

I can't get them to come out and remove the 9 feral cats living under my house... I doubt they would get off there lazy butts to rescue 1 baby possum.

I've known some folks to keep them as pets.

Also if you're hungry ping the SEC, they can give you some recipes!

local taco truck will take it.

LOL! I'm not that hungry yet... Besides, he'd only be good for an appetizer...

We do have a couple here on campus that rehab raptors. I'm sure this lil guy would make a tasty morsel for them...

Orange County Animal Control will respond if:

1. The animal is injured or has died.
2. The animal is trapped in the house and cannot get out.
3. The animal has bitten someone.

So one of those.

Actually, animal control advises you to "relocate the animal to a wildlife habitat, preferably at night."

ROAST STUFFED OPOSSUM
1 opossum
Salt and pepper
1 chopped onion
1 tbsp. fat
1 c. bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 hard boiled egg
1 tsp. salt-water
Bacon
Rub the cleaned opossum, salt and pepper. Brown the onion in fat, add opossum liver and cook until tender. To this add the bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg and salt-water. Mix these ingredients thoroughly and stuff the opossum with it. Then turn the opossum like a fowl and put it in the roasting pan. Put bacon across the back. Pour 1 quart water into the pan before placing the opossum in a moderate oven. Roast, uncovered, basting every 15 minutes until the opossum is tender (about 2 1/2 hours).

Enjoy. :chef::lickout::D:moon:

So I'll have to stick my finger in it's face and make loud noises until he bites me then....
