Off topic. cali ar15 build

I've got the rock river two stage, it's nice. The geissele's are supposed to be nice. I think it's the SSA that my buddy has, I'll check with him tomorrow. The milspecs work ok, but I got use to the triggers in my M1 Garands, so I had to do something. :)

Ok, he says if you want to put a lot of lead down range really fast, you want the 3 gun geissele, and if you are going for precision, get the SSA.

I'm in the middle of collecting parts for a lower I have and will absolutely be putting in the SSA linked above. Having fired my buddies with that trigger I'm 100% sold on it.

yeah saw that. As funny as it is. I am not trying to build a funny weapon lol. Trying to even be OK with the AP lower I am waiting on, just seems to 'cheap' to put on a above average weapon.. Almost buyers remorse and thinking I should go back and get a Mega billet lower, or even wait for a DD matching one.

Any billet lower is not "milspec" the aero precisions are nice parts. Really good QC on those. Easily comparable to the Mega lowers I have. The "billet" lowers are more gimmicky and for show. They're nice, but don't add any real value to the rifle.

Its been since I think 1991 since I was at a gun show. I remember walking in and buying a new Russian SKS still in cosmoline, for 175$.

I went to the Costa Mesa gun show on sat. What a waste of time. I paid 833 for what they are charging 1015 and up for in a upper assembly. Mags (magpul 10rds) were 17$ and up, amazon I paid 13 or 15 with free shipping. Ammo was all wolf crap. Gun bars were like 50$ and up. I can find nice ones online for 38 and up. And only 2 SKS's total in all the the vendors and 700$ I think was the cheapest and very well used.

It was cool to go look. But why buy there? I guess no paper records, but really who cares if you walk in and get a cash reciept from joe blows guns for anything above that doesnt even have your name on it.

I personally went with DPMS for my AR. Set up with a quad rail, forgrip, and 1-9 twist chromoly barrel. First upgrade was a Hogue grip. Second was an Eotech. I'd recommend the Hogue grip over every other grip any day of the week. Next upgrade is going to be a new trigger. The stock one is a little stiff.

Don't want to pollute your thread, but here's mine. Stay away from cheap bipods

So thank you everyone for the words of wisdom on this...

I ended up w a AP lower and Daniel defense upper assembly w hammer forged barrel. Geissele trigger. Magpul furniture. Eotech. 5x swing to side mag. Side mount irons. Bipod flip out fore grip. Some cool custom stuff and a few DD options.

Now wife approves a 308 win mag build. Umm...

Hooked...
