NWC Treasurer Position Open

In accordance with the bylaws:

Article VI Section 4 (b):

<snip>If any other Officer or Board Member is recalled or resigns, that position shall be considered for immediate election to fill the vacancy for the unexpired portion of the term.
A minimum of one week notice shall be given that a special election will be held, followed by a two week nomination period, which is then proceeded by a one week voting period.
The newly elected Officer or Board Member will take office immediately.<snip>

There will be a special election for the NWC Treasurer. The position to replace Darren (GoldCobra) who as of 05/15/2013 has officially resigned from his duties as our financial officer.
The winner of the special election will full-fill the rest of his term which expires 12/31/2013 at midnight.

The duties will also include setting up new bank and Paypal accounts for the commerce of the NWC, and to record and track all transactions of and within the NWC.

This thread will serve as notice of the upcoming special election.
Nominations will begin this time next week, starting the morning of 05/23/13 ...but not before 12am of that day.

I will leave this thread open for now, but keep in mind this is intended as a public notice more than anything.
Please keep posts on topic, and to the point.

Nominations for the new NWC Treasurer Are Open

Here are the rules for the upcoming nomination / voting process:

1. Official nominations start May 23. Nominations will last 1 week
2. You MUST be a Member to nominate someone.
3. You MUST be a Member in good standing to run for Treasurer.
4. You MUST be a Member to vote.
5. Voting will start June 6.
6. A nomination will need to be made, then seconded and then accepted by the the nominee, to be counted, and moved forward to the voting process.

Please consult with those members you would like to nominate for office to make sure they want to run.
If your looking to run, ask someone to nominate you, maybe they will.

No frivolous posting in this thread please. Keep it strictly to nominations, seconds, and acceptances.
All non-topic posts will be deleted.
Please begin a new thread if you have any questions for any of the candidates.
It would be good to start "about me" threads for this purpose.

This process is important as the person elected will run the chapter's finances for the remainder of the year.
Please take this seriously.

If no one runs there will be no more NWC. (bylaws state we must have a 3 person BOD to remain a chapter)

Although I encourage competition and having multiple people running for the same position.... I WOULD like to see nominations be of someone who has had recent and consistent activity in the chapter. I dont have anything against Dickbreaky, but it seems like he has all but left the chapter if not altogether...not one post in nearly 7 months..... not exactly a track record becoming of a future officer.
If you dont care to participate in the goings on of the organization let alone the chapter, why would you care about the fiscal responsibilities of said chapter?.....
I think the saying "actions speak louder than words" is apt at this point.
