NW Fest preparations?

Hans,

I think you have a great rear :)
However, I don't swing that way!!

At least we know why your wife isn't coming any more:)

Back on subject,
I know very well that your original intent was to have the bug done and sold before starting the jeep, and have the front and rear bumpers done before Sierra Fest/NW Fest.
Don't worry, It took me what? 3 years or so to get mine done!! :)

Michael

After about 6+ hours invested into the front gears, Im done with them. One word of advice, don't do gears on a dirty, greasy Jeep, wearing just shorts. By the time I was done rolling in the dirt and gear oil, I was dirtier than the Jeep itself. Then I remembered I had no soap, so I had to bathe with comet and dish soap. Ouch. No pictures of me in the shower.. Thank what ever god you believe in for that.

Kind of a biotch to set-up. My first Dana. Older axles are a lot easier to do. Yukon 4.56's, Yukon master install, Spicer carrier, awaiting a lunchbox locker of some sort. Thanks Phil for the parts. :) And John for the spares.

These two tools come in handy when doing gears and trannies. As well as numerous other things. A press and berring spliter/puller.

And the new to me front springs installed. Thanks again HilltopXJ!

Looking at this just reminded me, I need to space the back of my hood also. I'll probably use spacers on the hinges since i'm fresh out of Coors cans for the front:laugh3:

I have to thank James - XJLaredo
He came out and after BSing for a while. Listening to my depresing jiberish, and coaxed me into getting the Rock Rails on.

James,
I got that last bolt in after you took off.
Afterwards, my wife and I debated getting the Air compresser going or possibly splurging for some type of Powertank.

Installed my rear shelf and worked as far as I could. I have to go and get some longer screws tomorrow and finish the wiring.

I probably won't get the gauge installed or the air tanks, but I will hook up the air compressor for airing up the tires. I guess I will yank the fuse to turn the thing off, for now.

Gotta finish the Rock rails tomorrow after a trip to Tacoma Screw. Will trim the fenders, a little. Then get as far as I can with the compressor.

Thank you James

See y'all Thursday

Jason

Thats great. I didn't know if you where going to keep working or not last night.

Like i said, Someone can loan you the use of thier air tank, but the can't loan you thier rock rails! If you get both done you don't have to worry about either.

All i need to do now is change oil and re-tighten all front suspension bolts.

IS IT TIME YET?

Had a Monster Headache today. Moved fairly slow.

Finished the rock rails tonight.

Mounted the Air Compressor, Didn't finish the hook up.

Trimmed the finders, a little.

Ran some water and a mitt over the Jeep to clean off a few bugs.

Might finish the wiring tomorrow night along with re-packing the Jeep.

Thanks
Jason

Leave the heep at home and drive down. I've got at least one seat still open and I know others do also. Besides, it sounds like this year will be less about wheeling and more about getting to know the group better...you should come!

EDIT: This goes for you too, Kris!

Kris...If you wake up from a dream in the middle of the night (this weekend) hearing that all too familiar crunch sound a Jeep makes when it hits a tree...

-or -

the constant noise of a starter -over and over and over and over...

Just remember - we miss you and we're thinking of you,ok?? :wave1: ;)

Got Fuel?

Hey guys, new to the area, interested in this NW fest. Is there a thread I can look at to learn the details, or can someone fill me in on when it's happening? Hope I can make it. Thanks.
