So, I've got these trick tie downs for my cargo area...thought I'd install some nutserts, and just screw 'em down....can't find nutserts...or the install tool...anybody know where I can get 20, 1/4 x 20 nutserts and install tool?? I've found a local shop that has boxes of 100 for something over 50 bucks......:scared:
Thanks!
Andy

FWIW, you don't really need the tool if you have a way to grip the nutsert while driving the screw. You just have to start it in a vise. However they are damned handy little things and it's worth having the tool.
Thats funny! How do you insert it in the extremely precise hole(needed for proper grip) after you already start to expand it???

Just crank it enough for the nutsert to swell a little bit. If it's too big to go in the hole then you have obviously futzed it up. Once it's been started, you can pull it tight with a screw and a ratchet driver pretty easy.

Thanks! Just placed my order:clap:

Update:
Well, turns out I really didn't need the nutserts for most of the holes...they were fairly accessable. And I think I burned up maybe 6 or more of them...not completely seating etc...I'd give the nutserts a B- in this situation where I really couldn't get easily to the metal surface...carpet was in the way!

All the fasteners, and holes, and underside of tie downs were siliconed pretty good.
Thanks for the help!
