NP231 clunking

So I recently noticed that my transfer case is clunking. I noticed it after I backed out a of steep dirt driveway in 4wd. It seems to be making the noise at idle in park, while driving or in any gear. Not sure on what it could be, going to check fluid level this weekend. Has a SYE on it. Any ideas on what it could be?

A noise at idle in park is not coming from the t-case.

if you pull up slightly on the tcase shifter does it go away?

Could the trans mount be bad? Its a pretty consistent sound. I'll check the shifter today.

It's a pretty common problem where the bushing for the tcase shifter will fail and the control rod will rattle at idle or going down bumpy roads.

Turned out it was the tcase shifter bushings, thanks guys.
