Not your average high idle

I recommended replacing the black junk with dielectric grease after cleaning the contacts.

It was Jeep engineering that recommended removing the black junk and they didn't even suggest replacing it with dielectric.

But they also were the same engineers that specified the black junk? Why listen to them on the second time around? LOL

I did clean the Male/female pins in mine and tightened the female connecotrs, direct metal to metal contact surfaces, but I left the bulk of the black stuff in as a sealing agent. Mine had ZERO corrosion, which I attributed the black goo being an sealant and anti corrosive agent, so I left mine in. That was before I found NAXJA. But my C-101 has not caused me any documentable grief, and it has 278,000 miles on it.

Mike, in my 12 years as Service Manager at the local Jeep dealership from 1980 through 1992, I had the opportunity to forge some good relationships with a few guys in Jeep's engineering department. Their job was to fix field service problems by working closely with select dealers.

I was privvy to many fixes that either came out as TSBs months later, or never did. We were able to repair Jeeps that other dealers struggled with because of the insider info we received from JeepTech. I'm still thankful to this day for the help they gave us. It made a thankless job much more tolerable. I still have access to the notebook we used during those years and offer those fixes periodically in my posts.
.
Rest assured that the C101 cleaning fixed many electrical gremlin issues on a slew of customers' Jeeps over the years. The same is true of the ground refreshing and the "CPS adjusting". .

Well i'm not good at solving domestic disputes, but every sensor seems to be kosher. In fear of breaking another bolt off in the block is it worth it to tear apart the intake/exhaust to look for cracks in the header? Anything else i should do with the everything torn apart?

if we are talking about a cracked exhaust header i know for a fact that my header is cracked and has no way effected my idle speed.

what happens if you run it with the tps unplugged?
also when its idleing where you want it unplug the IAC and see if the rpms continue to rise.

but dont do this at the same time to narrow it down.
