No start '92 4.0 Alternator or NSS

Neutral Safety Switch and they are notorious for getting crud in them and not working properly, fortunately you can remove them(carefully) and clean them. A good reason to try cleaning them first is that they cost between $250 and $300 new.

Last time my dad priced one for the '90 that is my wifes now it was 400 from dealer + installation, back in about 98-99

i'll share a secret with ya buds. if your NSS is messed up, and broke(not just dirty) like mine was, go on ebay and buy one for $25 bucks. works great. : -) shh dont tell, they might run out of em.
