no power to radio, cig lighter and no dash lights
1989 4.0

noticed the no power to radio when replace cd player, there is no power to either the 12v or the consistent (memory wire) So i ran a temp wire to the cd player from my finch relay box. however while riding with the center console out I put on the Ebrake and some how the wire made its way in the ebarke and was pinched casusing a spark. It was after that event that the next time i drove the cherokee i realized that the dash lights don't work. Now i just put something into the cig light to test it and no power to it either.

any help or suggestions?

Sounds like a fuse(s) to me.

X2 on the fuse probably one in the fuse/relay panel under the hood.

I'd check the ones at your feet first. IIRC those items you ahve no power to are on the same fuse.

all the fuses under the dash are good dont see fuses under the hood but do see fuse links. There is on that goes from green to a black cylinder to red that doesn't look too good could that be the one?

At this rate it could be more then one fuse. Get a test light and go through both poles of each fuse.

I have a similar problem, wasn't the fuses, couldn't find a bad connection in the dash... Have yet to fix this. Noticed my tire is flat, gonna be severly pissed if some punk slashed my tire. We have had a bunch of skater kids running around the last few days. Can't catch a break, can't tell you how many times Ive thought about going back to a GM offroad toy.

i may just make an aux aux fuse block off of my homemade aux fuse box

its weird cause i have my aux fuse box that switches on with the ignition with the switch wire powered by the rear wiper spot in the under dash box

look at a wireing schematics from FSM and see where it leads..

ok don't know what happen but when I was messing with the cig power wire i heard a relay shut off and back on. now the dash light work but still no power to radio harness or to cig light/outlet.

I had lost power to all my dash lights and the transmission shifter lights. It was a blown fuse...the only 5amp fuse at the footbox. Sounds slighty different but worth a check

ok don't know what fixed it but now everything works except the memory wire for the radio but i just ran a new one from the empty batt terminal on the block. thanks for the help.

Is it an auto or 5 speed? You may want to pull the connector in the engine compartment and clean and regrease it with dielectric grease.
