No Heat While Idling

The heat works great in my 99 as long as I dont just start it and let it idle.Defrost, or vent is all the same, cold or hardly warmed, but the temp gets to operating temp (190-200) and will continue to do this for atleast an hour, or until i put it in gear and start rolling.

If you only get heat when you give it gas you probably have poor circulation. Try flushing out the system that might clear out whatever is causing the poor circulation.

Or your heater core might be starting to get clogged up.

could be just low on fluid. I'd start there, take a look at the fluid, should be chunkless.

For heating problems, I always start with the basics. Flush/fill system with new antifreeze, new OEM 195 degree stat. You could have a weak water pump with these symptoms.

Heater cores can definitely be suspect but I think that would normally leave you with cool air all the time, not just at idle. My first thought is the water pump. How many miles on that pump? :wave1:
