What are the differnces between long arm lifts and short arms lifts. What are the pro's n con's of each. thanks.
Bill

Short arms attatch to the stok control arm locations. Long arms attach to an area (depending on design) near the cross member.

Long arms are designed to decrease the angle at which the control arms meet the axle on higher lifts, thereby restoring some of the original suspension charactaristics.

Ideally control arms should be as close to the stock angles as possible.

You only need long arms with a lift.

Thats rude dude!!!!!

KARMIRXJ, Thanks for the lovely reply, Sorry, I thought this place was where some one interested in the same subject could gain knowledge from people who have more expeariance on it. I really thought there would be more suport from people then that. I guess I over estimated the level of maturity here. Like they say, looks can be decieving. Guess i wont be cruzing this site much. Oh well. :anon:

i guess i missed todays "festivities" but give the new guy a break huh... don't hijack a thread to bicker some more....

Casportsman,

I don't know who exactly KarmirXJ was directing that to, but I can tell you his response is not in the character of NAXJA and I hope it doesn't cause you to leave. It was rude and hopefully will be deleted by the forum admin.

Casportsman,

Don't worry about it, he was just teasing a little.

There is a search button in the upper right had corner of the screen. Do a search for long arms and you will find so much information and pictures your head will hurt. There has been a debate going on here for a long time and that was the reason for KamirXJ taunt.

I'm not sure how far back the general forum. You have to be a member to access the technical archives.
