I said it in off topic.....I guess I'll post it here too.....
I'm not a fan of Jeep Skool. I don’t think the trails are worth what you’re paying for. Most of the trails are not to challenging; I could probably get thru most with a stock XJ (I’m not talking the deep mud crap). The harder trails are not really that hard vertically… they are more or less just horizontally tight that guarantee some body damage.

I don’t like the fact that you need to take that safety class every year. It takes up half the day and you have to pay for it and the trails. I just think it could be Run better. I’m not trying to down talk Jeep Skool, and I understand that there are not too many places in Ohio. What they are doing there is great for the off-road community, and I appreciate that fact. I’m just not a fan of it “yet”.

I think it has a much better variety of trails for Stock jeeps to Buggys on 40s. There are x50 amount of trails too compared to Jeep Skool. I have been going there for years and still find new trails most every time I go. It’s just the Hillbilly’s you need to watch out for.

Those are the complaints I also have with Jeep skool(also the OUTRAGEOUS price of recover and there over all recovery rules are stupid)

You must have gone on a popular day or a holiday weekend or something. I have been going there for years and have never run into any problems like that. Like I said, I have seen alot more reckless driving at a well know Off-Road parks like the "Badlands".

Maybe I'm just lucky. :dunno:

I dont know about the price being Outrageous. The money is probably put to good use for making more well needed trails.

Like I have said, you shouldnt ever wheel alone, even if its at a popular Off-Road park. The group your with should have helped you out. You shouldnt ever need to pay for a recovery.........unless you did somthing really stupid.

Have you ever been to Jeep skool after they started Making people pay for the safety classes(the "skool" part)?

There is a $500 recovery charge(heavy equipment) for anyone who breaks down on a trail and CAN NOT be removed without major trail damage during the extraction. Regardless of who is in the front of the pack or by yourself. This includes STAFF. This charge is explained during Skool and is not negotiable. The equipment is owned by SHC and that is the fee they charge. Even though the forum donations were supposed to go towards the payment of heavy equipment rentals and fuel, the price has never changed.

Their original $20 made me think twice about going at first along with the long drive, but I went a couple times anyway, each time more trails were closed, and the price skyrocketed and they explained it by adding all these crazy attractions that I did not use or want to use. The fun was further decreased by the "trail leaders" making me feel like I needed to show my sticker and armband every trail crossing. After me and Many MANY others voicing our complaints and being met with hostility instead of appreciation for use wanting to make the place better I decided to never go back and make sure everyone knew of the problems we have encountered. As with anything though, they have their supports that stand up for them even if they treat them like poo.

There are alot of threads out there about Jeep Skool, but the only ones that are of good things are on their site. That right there should say something to you.

I've never seen them get out the heavy equipment but,I have seen them hook up 6 Jeeps in a train to get people out.They will try everything under the sun before the fee.

Anyone ever see that video on youtube of the JeepSkool guys blowing up a XJ? They drive this Jeep out on to a shooting range with all the fluids and tires still on it then pump it full of lead with a machine gun until the Jeep is on fire with nasty black smoke pouring off of it. Real nice vid to show all those nice people that want to close our trails and kill our sport/hobby!
