new wheelin?

One of my favorite things to do around Boone. There is a good amount of serenity in finding forest roads and views you know almost no one drives.

I have yet to receive confirmation of this but a buddy of mine just told me there's a new off road park out by McMinnville. He's supposed to be getting more information for me.

Mayhem?

Anyone been to Bold Springs Off-road park in McEwen

lots of great trails around monteagle toward chattanooga, and viola is pretty sweet near manchester. i'd take you to monteagle this weekend if i weren't leavin town.
maybe next weekend, or pretty much whenever you have some free time we'll go explore up there. a lot of those are too much for my jeep, but there are just as many that are a lot of fun, and can be done in a mildly built rig.

i love doing this too it gets even better in the winter, unfortunately being a student and all i cant afford breakage or to waste gas.....but it still happens lol

If you break something on a forest road, well, I just wouldn't even know what to say.

The dedicated OHV area (turkey bay) is kind of in the middle so it doesn't matter if come up through highway 79 or from the north off of the interstate.

The whole park is riddled with back roads, many of them comparable to the dedicated OHV area; plus they are free. There are tons of camping points, too.

I saw a $15 permit fee for 1-3 days. Are those free trails something different? Are those not the ones that you can get in trouble for riding on?

yes, $15 for Turkey Bay. That is a dedicated area for OHV riding.

You won't get in trouble if you have a vehicle on the other trails, but apparently you can't ride ATVs on them. I don't know why.

ok so turkey bay is in the middle of LBL.

does that sound right?

Yes, that looks like it'll get you there. It's easy to find - there's one main road at LBL; it's called The Trace. Stay on it and you can't get lost.
