I can't believe nobody's mentioned the ultimate "get pumped" song. I used to listen to it just before entering a demolition derby:

"Balls to the Wall" by Accept.

Download it. You'll thank me.

Other than that, anything by Iron Maiden will do. I prefer more of the "hardcore" metal to get me pumped to f*ck or fight - Most Precious Blood, Parkway Drive, He is Legend....
Ouch ! That takes me back a few years. Accept kicked some,.... in there day!
I saw them live twice !
"Balls to the Wall" and "Metal Heart" tours, absolute sonic brutality, my ears have never been the same since.

you would be amazed at how many "punk" kidsglaze over at the very mention of dead kennedys or sublime, ramones, the clash, black flag,mc5 or tell them how afi used to be hard core royalty not this emo she-ite
sure they've heard OF the sex pistols, rancid or pennywise but "green day" and "good charlotte" are where its at AHEM...piss off thats not punk

oh and add judas preist-painkiller(whole album) and fight (the war of words album)to my list

Dude you just listed most of my favorite bands. and i totally agree with you. I just graduated from high school and when i wore a black flag shirt someone asked me if they were new because they had never heard of them before. it sounds like you and me have the same taste in music punk and real metal

Wow, people with good taste. I've been listening to punk music for over a decade, long before anyone I knew was even remotely interested. I went from being the only kid in my school who knew who Face to Face or Screeching Weasel was, to being the "authority" on punk music when it's popularity just started hitting its stride. Even though I've liked that style of music for years, I've never considered myself a "punk" or really got into the whole "scene" aspect of it. That whole attitude annoys me, and basically abolishes what punk rock was meant to stand for in the first place, which was doing your own thing and not really caring what other people thought. It's degenerated into a culture with its own status quo, and I hate people that buy into it. Apparently you have to wear checkered everything and dye your hair black to be accepted into the this new-wave clique... f***in kids.

Anyways, kudos on the musical taste. Danzig is a good choice, but I'll have to veto Mother and replace it with Long Way Back From Hell.

Wiring issues with the fuse box keep my stereo out, so I listen to the sound of my Jeep banging and moaning.:banghead:

If I was to listen to something on the trail it would be Satriani, Van Halen, Ozzy, and old southern rock!

awesome i couldnt agree more i was considered a metal guy but i knew more about music than most and that drew me into the local scene even

ALWAYS support your local music scene and go to as many shows as possible

i love music and this thread has brought back some of the fire i never realized i lost .now because of the mood i am in at the moment i would go with "she rides" from danzig

if metal is your thing these three songs will pump the most atrophied of hearts, Death-The Philosopher,Carcass-Embodiment,Kreator-Phobia

(espescialy the last one)

i know, im a post-whore,sue me.

a couple of years ago,my jeep was broken into and all my cds were stolen. this is a very big deal,as i had about 25-30 demos and home recordings of friends bands or otherwise small time acts. now i say this because i think this act helped douse the flames of my passion for the music and looking back, if i could have a cd that got me ...,well stoked i think i would have to mention at least a few of these groups:justin sane, pacemaker, not quite sober, zero guage... there are so many more and still so many memories that i had lost when those albums were gone...hmmm i miss those people, places and the good times we had.no-one had yet gone to rehab children had yet to be born, friends that were still alive. i never realised what i lost with that case but it was so much more...than just music. i think its time now, time to go out...and make some new memories and re discover the passion,to fuel the fire, feed the flames and dust off the guitar to shape some lives.

get out there. do something, dont let another generation follow the hype blindly
there is so much to learn and so much to teach so much life LIVE IT!!!

instead of saying ya i dont like that type of music or that type of...whatever give it a chance try it offer an educated opinion and try the next thing

i feel very strongly on this as im sure alot of you do every body has a passion
everybody has something to offer wheather its wheelin or music the community is only as strong as its members a society IS everyone involved.BE INVOLVED.

i have been to concerts too numerable to count and loved them all ...even if it was the first show ever for a friends teenaged sisters band i love the energy the atmosphere and the ...scene for lack of a better word

support is everything.image is nothing, ignorance is stupidity and my mom is more hardcore than you...

:soapbox: thank you for your time

My old VW was broken into two years ago and all my CDs were stolen. I had been more or less collecting good music for six years, and had a very respectable CD booklet of 100+ albums. I had the entire discography of some very important bands. I'm only now beginning to rebuild what I lost, and still much of it is missing. It pisses me off because I'm sure whoever stole them probably had only heard of 10% of the bands and just threw the book in a dumpster somewhere. One of these days I'll get it all back... thank god for piracy. :D
